Hanabusa Style: Parrying Stance
Name: Hanabusa Style: Parrying Stance
Rank: C
Spec: Kenjutsu
Prerequisites: Member of the Hanabusa Family or trained by one.
Range: Self
Duration: Continuous
Damage: -
Piercing: -
Description:
After widening their stance, the user then holds their blade at a diagonal angle with the tip of the blade facing downward while the hilt is held high, typically above the user's head. While in this stance, the user prepares themselves to parry any physical attacks coming their way, conserving as much energy as possible while focusing intently on their opponent and their body language for a sign of their next move.
So long as the user maintains this stance, their mobility will also be limited as a result of their widened stance and focus upon holding a defensive posture to protect themselves. This is why the usage of this technique is preferred in one-on-one combat and not in confrontation with multiple opponents as the user may become overwhelmed by multiple attackers or attacks from multiple angles, as well as being relatively ineffective against Ninjutsu or other such techniques which are not physical in nature.
(+25 Perception to react against Tai/Ken/Bukijutsu techniques)
(+25 Armor against Tai/Ken/Bukijutsu techniques)
(Cannot utilize more than 1/4th of Speed for Movement while active)
(Does not affect Nin/Gen/S-T/Med/Sen/Kin/Puppetry techniques which do not have physical components)
Rank: C
Spec: Kenjutsu
Prerequisites: Member of the Hanabusa Family or trained by one.
